For Emma, Forever Ago: first full-length album, released February 2008 on Jagjaguwar. For Emma, Forever Ago is the 2007 debut album by Bon Iver, who at the time consisted solely of Justin Vernon. After his band DeYarmond Edison split, and he’d suffered a bout of serious illness, he set off for a cabin in the woods to write and record the album. The resulting recording is now a firmly established classic and appeared at the top of many critics ‘best of’ lists at the end of 2007.
