Second 7" from this hardcore band out of Singapore, and it's another ripper. If you haven't heard them before, Lubricant have a heavy, well-produced hardcore sound that walks the fine line between musical sophistication and knuckle-dragging thuggery. The overall vibe is quite similar to the Impalers (minus that band's longer, more complex song structures and virtuosic lead playing), and I must admit that Lubricant's riffs are nearly as catchy. If you're into the type of hardcore coming out on the Beach Impediment label--particularly bands like Impalers and Warthog--I'd encourage you to check this band out. - Sorry State Records
